I know “Christmas in July” is a little cliche but given what’s going on in the world I keep singing “We need a little Christmas…right this very moment!!!”
It feels like everything has been cancelled and its bad news all the time. Christmas cheer might just be what we need!!
My friends Bev from Flamingo Toes and Christopher from the Tattooed Quilter and I decided to do something fun, to spread some early and much needed Christmas Cheer!
So this weekend we are sharing with you 3 patterns for Christmas table runners! Each pattern uses 12″ blocks so they can be interchanged or even made into a quilt! You could also make a small wall hanging or a pillow with the designs! Get creative!
My pattern is called Peppermint Forest. I used Santa Clause Lane by Riley Blake Designs which I’m super in love with!!!
This quilt project comes together super easy! AND if you are super ambitious you can even make a quilt out of the blocks!!
You can download the pattern by clicking HERE.
Mufasa totally approves this project!!
I hope this little project brightens your day!!! Be sure to follow along and post your progress – use the tag #peppermintforestquilt and #needalittlechristmasprojects
Love your table runner pattern with the cute trees and peppermint blocks! Thank you for bring this ‘cheer’ into our homes at this time. Mufasa looks adorable – and is a perfect model :)!
What a pretty Christmas table runner. It’s so festive and definitely cheerful. The fabrics are perfect. Mufasa is adorable!
I downloaded this pattern but couldn’t open it. I got a message saying – can’t open. Can you help?
This is so cheerful! Will be working on this over the weekend! Thanks so much!
I’m currently making this table runner. My tree block has a significant difference in size compared to my peppermint blocks. I used a 1/4” seam for everything. Any ideas?
I have the same problem. Did you figure out a fix or a correction to the pattern or block cutting
I had the same issue, but then decided to accurately trim down each of the squares in the peppermint block to exactly 3.5 inches. It worked perfectly, even though the amount I was trimming off was very little.
I am currently making this runner. The measurements for the tree block are incorrect!! It can’t possibly measure 12 1/2″ square with the given measurements for the white rectangles. Only last row once sewn measures 12 1/2″ whereas all the others measure 16 1/2″. Definetly an error!!!! A corrected cutting list would be much appreciated…
I too am struggling with the tree strips what solution did you come up with?
I love you pattern. Only problem I have is being suckered in to use dropbox. They share personal information and financial and more. Would be nice if it was a normal pdf file. But Thank you for the pattern. Beautiful.

I saw a YouTube Video this am and in i you made this into a quilt and the blocks were unfinished 12.5 inches but I can only find the table runner. I would love the whole quilt pattern
How can I get this free pattern? I don’t want to join Dropbox. Usually when a designer says it is a free pattern that is what it is.
Thank you so much for the pattern. It was kind and generous of you to share it. I don’t have Dropbox and had no problem sending it to my printer to print and use.
I found the pattern on Fat quarter shop too . I printed from there . Can’t wait to make this !
I’ve heard your name many times and today I see your face, thanks for sharing your block and free pattern. I also enjoy the holidays and making trees. I’m looking forward to making the table runner from your pattern. Thanks again and thanks for the inspiration and wonderfully detailed tutorial.

Amanda, A huge thank you for the peppermint table runner pattern. I just downloaded to my Dropbox with no problems. Words cannot even express how excited I am to have found it. I seen the wall hanging quilt you had made in this months magazine and immediately new I wanted to make it. I know this is the table runner pattern but I believe I can figure out the rest 😉 the article in the magazine was also very inspiring, thank you so much. I have a small online fabric shop and when I seen your beautiful work I went to Riley Blake to make a purchase, very excited to get it in. Will definitely be ordering more for the shop. Thank you again for the pattern and such beautiful work!
Oh I forgot to mention… Mufassa is a absolutely handsome kitty!!
I love the fabric Christmas with scaredy cat that you used with the tree tutorial. Where can I buy that fabric? I have looked everywhere I can think of online without success.
