Flower Basket Quilt

Using precut 2.5″ strips is a fun and fast way to make a quilt. Flower Basket uses all precut strips. You sew partial seams on the blocks to give the block a woven feel which I love!

I used soft pastel tones for the sample in my book Playful Precut Quilts.

My friend Amber from Gigi’s Thimble made this quilt and she used all blue tones. How amazing is this!

I love blue quilts and she chose such a fun variety of fabric which gives the quilt so much interest!

Hop over to Amber’s blog to read more and to see all the fabulous quilts and patterns she has designed!

Garden Cat Quilt

The first pattern I wrote for Playful Precut Quilts was Garden Cat. Shhhhh don’t tell but it might be my favorite 🙂

I love chain quilts and I love cats so it just felt like the perfect quilt for me.

I love that this quilt uses 5″ precut squares and background fabric.

I also love turning every quilt pattern into a Halloween quilt and my friend Jodi from Pleasant Home has done just that!

She made Garden Cat with black and orange fabrics and I am sooooo in love!!!!

I am totally making this!!!!! And don’t you just want that room!!! Make sure to visit Jodi’s blog for lots more!!!

Colonial Flowers Quilt

Colonial Flowers was inspired by life in Virginia where I used to live. The patriotic colors with the traditional feel of this quilt just feels like Virginia.

You can find the pattern in my book Playful Precut Quilts.

My friend Amy from Diary of a Quilter made this fantastic fall version. I am dying to remake this quilt in fall colors. I love that she saw sunflowers in a summery pattern! She’s so talented!

Amy sewed 3 blocks together to make a table runner. I love that you can do so many things with the blocks in this book!!! You can read all about Amy’s version on her blog!

Summer Picnic Quilt

I love a good summer quilt. I knew I wanted to include one in Playful Precut Quilts. I was inspired by the soft tones of Sweet Tea by Moda – kind of a muted red white and blue quilt.

This quilt uses precut 2.5″ strips which makes it sew up super fast.

My friend Jessica Dayon made this stunning fall version so now I want to rename the quilt Fall Picnic 🙂 Look at these colors!!!

I love the colors she used in this quilt. She’s a super talented quilt designer – make sure you stop over to her blog to read about her version of this quilt.

One Block Wallhanging

In my book Playful Precut Quilts each block finishes at 12″ square. This means that you can mix around the blocks and customize quilts to what inspires you!

In the book I offer instructions to make a One Block Wallhanging, a Three Block Table Runner, and a Four Block Wallhanging.

Here is the sample I made for the book using the Scrappy Hearts block.

My friend Gracey from Burlap and Blossoms made this adorable version using the block from Sunday Drive as the center. It’s so bright and cheery!!!

My friend from Amy from Ameroonie Designs made this farmhouse version of the One Block Wallhanging using the Vintage Treasures block in the center. Look how amazing!!!!

I love how you can change the fabrics and the center block to get such different feels! I love quilt patterns that are versatile!!!

Gingham Patches Quilt

Who doesn’t love gingham!!! I love love love gingham! I love that gingham patches are the focal point of these blocks from my quilt from Playful Precut Quilts.

I paired the country feel of gingham with a modern feel of solid colors for a sophisticated take on gingham.

But don’t let the gingham box you into one design for this quilt! Look what my friend Melanie from Hello Melly Designs made! A Christmas version and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!

This makes the perfect Christmas quilt and how fun to have nice size block centers to show off your favorite Christmas fabric! Be sure to visit Melanie’s blog for lots more inspiration!!!

My friend Melissa from Polkadot Chair also saw “Christmas” in this quilt pattern and she made these super fun blocks with her latest fabric Santa Claus Lane.

I love the fussy cut centers! She is going to turn them into pillows! Be sure to visit her blog to read more!

Scrappy Hearts Quilt

Scrappy Hearts is a fast and easy 5″ precut square quilt from Playful Precut Quilts. I love the original design which features a dark gray background. It really lets the hearts pop!

My friend Kristina from Center Street Quilts made this version of Scrappy Hearts using a dark gray background and New Dawn by Citrus and Mint for Riley Blake Designs. I love the bright pink and green in this!

Be sure to visit Kristina’s blog for more details on her quilt and for lots of quilty inspiration – she’s one talented gal!

Vintage Treasures Quilt

I knew when I was writing Playful Precut Quilts I wanted a soft vintage-y (is that a word?) quilt in my book. My friend Bev from Flamingo Toes designs the cutest fabrics for Riley Blake Designs so I knew her line Vintage Keepsake would be perfect!

Bev made her own version of this quilt and it’s the cutest ever!

I love the bright cheerful fabrics she choose. Stop over at Bev’s blog to read all about her version!

Rise and Shine Quilt

I love how seeing different versions of the same quilt can bring inspiration!

This quilt is called Rise and Shine and it’s part of my Playful Precut Quilts book.

Recently my friend Andy from A Bright Corner made Rise and Shine in all solids and I am super in love with it!

Isn’t this amazing!!

I love the colors she chose. Andy has a great eye for color and placement!

Make sure to hop over to her blog to read all about her version of the quilt!!

Swiss Kiss

Recently a friend was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Sometimes you just don’t know what to do to help. I kept thinking about her and wanted her to feel loved. So of course I turned to quilting! I began quilting to give gifts and to make them for my children. Giving a quilt as a gift is one of the nicests gestures of love and friendship I can think of.

To support Breast Cancer Awareness month I am offering this quilt pattern as a free PDF for the month of October. You can find the pattern in my Etsy shop after that.

Since this quilt is made up of all the same size squares you can alter it to any size!

Use your stash and all your scraps! The more variety the better!!
