Mod Meow Fabric

I’m so excited that my newest fabric line with Riley Blake Designs will be hitting stores this month!

Mod Meow was inspired by mid century design and style – which is my most favorite!! I would love to live during that time 🙂

The colors have a retro feel but can easily work into quilts and projects by today’s quilters and sewists. Here is a little peek at some of the projects I created for this line.

Center stage in this fabric are a bunch of totally mod and totally hip black cats.

This fabric line has a border print which I am so thrilled about! It’s perfect for the hem of dresses and skirts, the border of quilts, or the edge of tote bags and pillows!

Also included in Mod Meow is a panel of all the black cats. These are perfect to cut out and appliqué onto anything!! Quilts, pillows, clothes, accessories, and more!

I hope you love these fabrics! I hope they inspire you to make something happy!

RBD Block Challenge

Today begins the first day of the Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge!

Every week one of your favorite RBD designers will post a 10″ block pattern. Make one block a week and then put them together in an amazing sampler quilt!

Today I am sharing my Pinwheel Star block. I used Mod Meow fabrics for this whimsical block. I love chain blocks! You can use this block in the sampler or make an entire quilt out of this block!

You can download my block pattern by clicking HERE.

Make sure to follow Riley Blake Designs so you don’t miss a block! And use the tag #rbdblockchallenge to follow along!!

Star Crossed Love Quilt

Heart quilts might be my favorite quilts! I have revamped my Star Crossed Love Quilt pattern! And now it’s available in a paper pattern in my Etsy Shop!

I recently made this quilt using New Dawn by Citrus & Mint for Riley Blake Designs.

I love the soft pink tones and the teal tones! They are perfect and a fun change to traditional Valentine’s Day colors!

This pattern is scrap friendly and precut friendly! It’s on sale for the month of January – so you have a few days left!

Season To Taste Blog Tour

I am so thrilled that Jessica Dayon asked me to be part of her blog tour for her brand new book Season to Taste! Jessica is a talented quilt designer – make sure to follow her on Instagram @jessicadayon.

Her book is so lovely! The quilts are made according to each season which I love!

I chose to make some blocks from the Backyard quilt and turn them into a table runner.

I used fabrics from my new fabric line Mod Meow which will be in stores the beginning of February!

I made 3 blocks from the Backyard quilt pattern. All the patterns in the book are easy to follow and well illustrated. The blocks came together super easy!

I wanted to add a little Mod Meow flair to the table runner so I added in a kitty block. Mod Meow has a fun cat panel with 10 cats that you can appliqué onto anything!

I used some simple sashing to put the 4 blocks together – easy peasy!

It’s 100% Mufasa approved 🙂

Be sure to grab a copy of Season to Taste! You will love all the patterns!!! It will keep you sewing all year long!

Deer Christmas Garden Box Quilt

I had so much fun making a Christmas version of my Garden Box Quilt!

I had purchased a fat quarter bundle of Deer Christmas by Urban Chiks and I wasn’t sure what quilt to make! The prints a so cute and vintage-y I didn’t want to cut them up into small pieces!

Garden Box was the perfect quilt: it shows off the fabric nicely, it is super fast to make, and it makes a large throw size which is perfect for Christmas movie watching!!

For the month of November I have the PDF quilt pattern on sale in my Etsy shop for $5.00!!

Mufasa loves helping 🙂

Garden Box Quilt

I love quilt patterns that come together quickly and quilt patterns that call for fat quarters. This is one of my favorites – especially if you have larger scale prints that you don’t want to cut up into small pieces.

I am offering this PDF quilt pattern at a special price of $5.00 for the month of November – so now you have the perfect excuse to start some holiday sewing!! Click here for the pattern.

It’s 100% Mufasa approved!

The pattern calls for 10 fat quarters, background yardage and border fabric. The finished quilt measures 65″ x 78″.

Scaredy Cat Quilt Along

I have always envisioned Scaredy Cat the quilt in Christmas colors!! So I’m inviting you to quilt along with me! Here are the details:

Each week we make a section of the quilt and before Thanksgiving you will have it all put together.

I am using Yuletide from Riley Blake Design – I love the traditional colors, plaids, and holly!

There are 13 red stars and 12 green stars.

There are lots of hourglass blocks in the stars. I’m using the Riley Blake Cute Cuts square up ruler. It saves tons of time!

So join in the fun! You can find the pattern in my Etsy shop.

Gingham Picnic goes Halloween

I’m on a roll with Halloween quilts! I definitely have more Halloween quilts than any other season! It is just too fun sewing with orange and black!!

I used my pattern Gingham Picnic to make this fun table topper. You can find the pattern in my Etsy shop for PDF download.

I made 9 blocks and followed the instructions for the sashing. The quilt finishes at 36″ square – which is such a versatile size! Place on a table, hang on a wall, or give as a gift!

I used dark orange prints and light orange prints to create the gingham effect. I used a Riley Blake pin dot for the white and then lots of black prints for the center star. I bound the quilt in black and white gingham!

You can easily sew the top together in an afternoon (or late at night – that’s how I work!)

Seriously – I’m so in love with this! Be sure to tag me (@jedicraftgirl) if you make one and use the hashtag #ginghampicnicquilt 🙂

Garden Cat Halloween Style

I always envisioned Garden Cat in Halloween Colors and I am so happy with how it turned out! It’s my new favorite Halloween Quilt!

The pattern is in my book Playful Precut Quilts. I followed the pattern and just switched out the colors!

You will love how fast this quilt comes together!!!

I used fabrics from my Scaredy Cat fabric line, lots of Riley Blake basics and some other fun Halloween fabrics! The scrappier the better!!!

It’s totally Mufasa approved!!!

Patchy Pumpkins Video

I am a guest on Riley Blake Designs You Tube channel today!

I had so much fun visiting all my friends at RBD and filming this video. I have to admit I was super nervous and I was going on less than 5 hours of sleep after driving 12 hours! It was crazy but I was happy to make it there!!! I hope you like the project.

Here’s the LINK to watch.
