From Our House Sew Along

Riley Blake Designs is hosting such a fun Sew Along to showcase the new Hush Hush 4 collection!

My contribution to Hush Hush 4 is this fun and versatile star print.

The From Our House Quilt is created from 18″ Log Cabin Quilt blocks, each with a unique 6″ block in the center.

You can click HERE to find the complete schedule and pattern!

I am offering an alternate 6″ block so you have even more to choose from. I made a simple Bow Tie Block that measures 6″.

You can download the instructions for the block by clicking Here.

I hope you love the new Hush Hush 4 collection – it’s my favorite one yet!

Charlotte’s Spooky Garden

Today begins the Charlottte’s Spooky Garden sew along! Each week we are focusing on a different portion of the quit!

The original pattern, Charlotte’s Garden, uses Leafy Keen fabric which I love.

I wrote special cutting instructions for the Halloween version.

Mod Valentine Quilt Pattern

The Mod Meow cats are back and with a valentine flair!

This fun feline Valentine Quilt measures 72″ square and the blocks measure 16″. This pattern is 2 1/2″ x WOF strip friendly!

The pattern includes all the cat images for appliqué. I used Heat n Bond Lite and machine appliquéd the cats.

You can purchase the pattern in my Etsy shop by clicking HERE.

It’s 100% Mufasa approved

Plant Life Quilt Pattern

The Plant Life quilt is finished!! I am loving it so much. I designed this quilt about a year and a half ago when I was submitting the proposal for my Leafy Keen fabric collection with Riley Blake Designs. For 18 months this quilt has been at the back of my mind and now finally its real!

Each plant has a name and each plant is made up of the same size half square triangles.

It may seem like a lot of triangles but they go fast and before you know it you are assembling plant blocks!

You can purchase the pattern in my Etsy shop by clicking HERE.

I used fabrics from Leafy Keen, my newest fabric collection by Riley Blake Designs. The collection is hitting stores October 2022!

4-Patch Charm Quilt

I love buying precuts – especially 5″ squares. I love all the different patterns using precut – but sometimes I just want something easy where I can just sew the squares together.

The precut squares I used are from the Carnaby Collection by Liberty Fabrics for Riley Blake Designs. You can use any collection or even scraps!

This pattern lets you sew the 5″ squares together without having to trim or square up. You can make it totally scrappy and random. The sashing adds interest and spacing to accent the fabrics you’ve chosen!

The finished quilt is 73″ x 86″ which makes it the perfect size for a throw quilt. I like to use simpler quilts for “cuddling” – watching movies or taking to sports or the beach.

Here’s the fabric requirements:

120 squares 5” x 5” in a variety of colors  or 15 strips 5” x WOF cut into 120 5″ squares

¼ yard dark blue fabric for Plus Blocks

½ yard red fabric for sashing

2 ½ yards white fabric

1 ¼ yard floral border fabric

¾ yard binding fabric

6 yards quilt backing

The pattern is available in my Etsy shop as a PDF.

I hope you love it!!

RBD Block Challenge 2022

It’s my turn for the Riley Blake Designs Block Challenge! I’ve designed a fun block for you! Have you been following along? Every week a new block pattern is released.

My block is called the Lynx block and it uses an easy piece method so it sews up fast!

I used Mod Meow to make my block and Mufasa oversaw the whole process. He put is paw print of approval on it!

Here is a link to all the info for the blocks and the mystery quilt.

Here is a link to all the You Tube videos from the past blocks.

Have fun sewing along and make sure to tag me on Instagram!!

Scrappy Charm Christmas Version

I try and make at least one new Christmas quilt every year. One of my favorite things about decorating is getting out all the Christmas quilts I’ve made over the years!

I used my Scrappy Charm quilt pattern and used all my Christmas fabric scraps and made this fun throw quilt! So essentially you can make this with what’s in your stash! The scrappier the happier!!!

The quilt measures 64″ square but you could easily add more rows to make it larger. I put plaid flannel on the back so it’s super cozy!

You can find the pattern in PDF of Paper in my Etsy shop!

Quilts and More

Make sure to pick up a copy of the Winter 2022 Quilts & More magazine!!!!!

I am super excited to be a Scrap Lab designer! If you don’t know what that is, Quilts & More sends a curated bundle of fabric and then a sewing prompt and the Scrap Lab designers design a project for publication! This issue we received a beautiful bundle by Riley Blake Designs and I was asked to make a table runner.

My runner was inspired by the lovely florals in the fabric collection Primrose Hill by Melanie Collette of Hello Melly Designs. You can get all the patterns for the wallhanging, the pillows and the table runner in the Winter 2022 edition which is on sale right now!
